Middle Years Coordinator’s Message

Esra Yildirim-Bas

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

What a great year! I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given both to your child and to the school. We have covered a lot of material and participated in many fun and exciting programs throughout the year.

As this year was my first experience of being a coordinator, I would like to thank the Middle Years Department, teachers, parents and students for supporting and working cooperatively. Years 3 and 4 students have worked very well academically and behaved well. I have done my best to keep your child safe and happy this school year.

As your child moves from 3rd to 4th grade, there are some very important things that you can do this summer to help them succeed. Take the time to listen to your child read and make sure that they are reading each night for at least 15-20 minutes, practice their math times tables and encourage your child to write often. If you go on vacation this summer, then encourage your child to take a journal with them and write a little bit about their trip each day. This is a great way for a child to get their thoughts organised onto paper. This will help your child to get off to the best possible start in 2017.

I would like to remind parents that school will commence on Thursday, 2nd of February 2017.

I hope you have a safe and wonderful summer break! I am looking forward to seeing you all in 2017!

Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Esra Yildirim
